Dinner rolls

Fluffy, pull apart dinner rolls. Do you even need anything else on the table? We have no doubt the smell of these rolls will bring your children thundering down the stairs.


  • 1 cup water(70°C)
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 3 ¼ cup bread flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons yeast
  • Coarse salt


  1. Place water, butter, sugar, egg, salt, herbs, flour, and yeast in a bread machine.
  2. Select the dough setting and let run.
  3. After the cycle is complete, turn dough onto a floured surface and divide in 16 portions and shape them into balls. Place them 2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet and let rise until doubled in size.
  4. Bake at 375°F or until golden brown. Brush with butter and sprinkle salt on top.
